All I can say is stick with it. It starts slow, REALLY slow with a lot of inner weirdness that makes you question if she’ll be too crazy to like, but SO worth it! Keep reading!I liked how Blade was 100% all in from the get go. No games, doubts, second guessing on his end. Just ended up loving him.Sloane was odd but ultimately endearing. Reminded me a lot of Vada/Bailey without the crushing self doubt.Didn’t think East would or could come around but glad they did.Lots of threads to follow forward. I wish some things were dealt with on page, but further plots to follow I guess. Some minor spoilers in my outstanding questions as a warning.Why don’t men see cheating on a long term significant other as a sign that someone might not be fit to be a brother? The Chase stuff bugged me. I get that until a few years ago you were a 1% club and not a family one but at some point habits have to change to enact a change in mindset and I think if they look to the true caliber of someone they’d find their worthiness. Chase isn’t worthy. Club business being club business is one thing. But a prospective brother lying to his long term girl and blocking her from the life is another. If he’s willing to run around on a girl that’s had his back and put up wit his non answers for years for an easy lay where does it end? Betray your woman for easy hookups, betray your club for easy money, just feel entitled to all of that cause you’re cocky. Nope. Most clubs don’t let prospects sleep with club girls anyway. Especially not at parties where a) he’d have duties and b) they’d be in demand from patched members. Just pass on Chase. He’s not a keeper.Cons attitude was disturbing. Again if you’re trying to turn around your club why have a blow out party at your new top secret locale? Why disrespect the locals there to the extent they did? Why let a member scream, berate, call the “c” word and physically intimidated a woman when he and his guest were clearly wrong? He knew they were together, saw them multiple times and knew Blade claimed her. Still he was nasty, aggressive, and over the line. For what? A easy girl with an arrest record and carrying drugs? Again, caliber. I get “brothers first” but when you brother disrespects your woman, helps other people disrespect your woman, and then purposely makes her feel unsafe in her home or the club are they really a brother you want? Feel Con should have been asked to transfer and that was before he said the truly ugly stuff at the clubhouse and tore down her shed and destroyed her property. Wish that would have been an on page discussion. Also bugged me that the club was busy and NO-ONE stepped in to help her. Again, bro code and letting someone abuse a woman are completely different things.Overall a great read. I've read every book in the Ghosttown series,and now both for Ghosttown East. This one was every bit as excellent as the rest.Amelia Shea has a knack for writing interesting characters and Sloane does not disappoint. I just lived watching her relationship with Blade and the MC unfold. Some MC series become the same story after a few books, just with differently named characters. Ms. Shea is able to introduce completely new storylines with fun characters in every book and yet still also shows us a gritty, tough world where the lines of ethics and legality are blurred. I just love this author and the world she has filled with unique, one if a kind people.
